- Optometric Instruments – Introduction to tools like retinoscopes, slit lamps, tonometers, lensometers
- Soft Skills, Computer & Communication Skills – Patient interaction, documentation, basic IT for healthcare
Year 2 – Advanced Clinical Practice & Applications
- Clinical Optometry / General Examination – Comprehensive eye evaluations using advanced tools
- Ocular Pathology & Ophthalmic Diseases – Cataract, glaucoma, retinal disorders, and related pathology
- Contact Lens Fitting & Care – Different lens types (soft, RGP, toric), fitting techniques, hygiene, and managing complications
- Binocular Vision & Dispensing Optics – Vision alignment, PD measurement, spectacles prescription, frame fitting, lens selection and materials
- Ophthalmic Instrumentation – Mastery of clinical instruments and diagnostic tools
- Community Health Optometry & Ethics – Conducting vision camps, eye health education, legal and ethical considerations
- Business Management & Academic Writing – Basics of managing a practice and drafting reports/projects
- Research Methodology / Project Work – Introduction to research, statistics, and project documentation
